The popularity of the English language is growing exponentially across China, and many, many teachers are needed to support the growth. In Beijing alone, there are scores of positions every month, and with the 2008 Olympics around the corner, the need for English in the service industries is critical. In Shanghai, the business center for the world's fastest-growing economy, children and adults alike are studying English. TESOL-certified native English teachers are prized in China, so job placement is extremely quick. The question most teachers face is not whether or not they will get a job, but which of the offers they should accept. It is not uncommon to receive 30 to 50 job offers, so we are available to help you choose the job that's right for you.
Minimum Educational Requirements: TESOL/TEFL Certificate, BA/BS preferred but not required
Typical Contract: 9 months - 1 year
Peak Hiring Season: Year-round (except around Chinese New Year)
Teaching Hours/week: 20 – 35
Monthly Salary: Approx. 5,000 – 12,000 RMB ($700 – 1600)
Income Tax: 15% – 20%
Cost of Living/Month: 2,000 – 6,000 RMB
Accommodations: Usually Provided
Airfare: Provided (reimbursed with the completion of contract)

Holidays: 14 – 21 Days
